Statement Released from the Sierra Leone Police Force (9th April 2020)

Avoid the beach front

As a result of the treat posed by COVID-19 across the word, Sierra Leone not being an exception, His Excellency The President Brig. Dr. Julius Maada Bio declared a State of Emergency on the 24th March 2020.

As provided fro by Section 29 subsection 5 of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone, some regulations and restrictions were introduced in Sierra Leone with the view of fighting the pandemic and safe-guarding citizens.


Following from the above; the Government of Sierra Leone instituted a three days lock-down which begun on Saturday 5th to 7th April 2020.





The Management of Sierra Leone Police would like to express if gratitude to the general public for the high level of compliance with the restrictions.

In order for continued safe-guarding of our citizens from COVID-19, it is advised that the Easter holiday is moderately celebrated at home with minimum gatherings and to totally avoid the beach front.

We the Sierra Leone Police will continue to work with citizens to safe-guard during these pandemic.
